I first posted this a couple of weeks ago, but the forums were being a bit screwy,, and it got lost in another forum somewhere.

So for the benefit of all of the beady-eyed, hated filled pathetic tossrs out there, I reissue my statement, and offer my wholehearted thanks to phi11ip for finding this for me.

In fact, I even got an email from Tribute/ Idlewild that simply contained a few words.

"I detest you."

Well if anyone reckons that they hate me, people that I've never even held a conversation with, you really think I'm going to care?

Think I'm going to lay away at night, crying into my massive pillow?

Well I'm not.

I really don't care about the majority of you people. There are those that can write things that are entertaining, or those that will contact me on MSN, and be thoroughly pleasant, those that appreciate it when they read something good on these forums (I'm not going to list people, I'll miss someone out and offend someone I don't want to).

But then there are you others. All you do is complain. Wait for a newbie to arrive, then criticise everything that they do. Perhaps you'll get a bee in your bonnet about notables, that's always entertaining, and oh so predictable.

You know what, I used to say that being a notable doesn't make me any better than the rest of you. Well sod that. I AM BETTER than a lot of you. Those sneering nobody's that bring nothing but their contempt for their pathetic existance to these forums. Those that bring no joy to the forums, no entertainment, they just exist to be part of the debris that floats amongst the genuine talent that really does exist on these forums.

Turn your nose up because you didn't win for your uninsirational piece of crap you wrote, almost exactly the same as your last post that didn't win. Take out that frustration on others, might as well, you've lowered yourself already, might as well get right into the sewers.

I've won games, because the staff here like the things I write.

Yes, but I felt that debris was a more suitable term, due to the high number of such persons. Had I considered just a couple of people to be the leeches, the lowlives and the losers, perhaps detritus would have been better. (The fact that I knew not of the words existance prior to this afternoon matters not.)

Also, 'detritus' was word of the day on dictionary.com on both December13 1999 and more recently on February 22 2002.

I concur with everything you wrote in the original bit Meka, but for this section:

I'd like to point out that you missed out a wonderful opportunity to use the word 'detritus'. Using the word 'detritus' is very important because writers hardly ever get the chance to place it in context (e.g. Chuck Palahnuik tried to use it and failed miserably in 'Fight Club').

By the way, Tribute, as he was then, or Idlewild, as he is now, didn't mean it when he sent the email saying he hated me, and we have sorted things out since.

But at the time it was pretty shocking for me to see it.

I'd just like people to remember that I'm just a regular guy, not some kind of GAD winning machine (as my name isn't currently on the winners list, is it not clear that I can't write greatly all the time, I have good patches and bad too!)

So yeah, see the man, not the machine.

And if you do disagree, go to gameaday.com, and look at the bottom. Thats right, look at the top of the list.

OK, I may be going a bit OTT, but it's just damned stupid when people detest someone because they have talent, have gained from it, and they haven't.
