I'm particularly excited about the playstation2 at the moment, I've seen the Japanese version at my local videogames store, and Tekken Tag Tournament looks breathtaking. It's not just the games though the machine will be able to play DVD movies too, but for me the best thing about Playstation2 is that it'll be backwards compatible. That means you'll still be able to play all your old Playstion games on it, plus with playstion2's improved graphical capabilities those games will look better than ever.
Infact the only bad thing about the Playstion2 is the price, why do we always have to pay approximately 100 more for our machine than the Americans. The same thing occurred with the Dreamcast last year, and contrary to popular belief the price increase isn't due to tax, the fault lies with the manufacturers who set the Recommended Retail Price (RRP). Still if you want a Playstation2 this side of Christmas you'll have to get your order in soon, its a great system, and with a built in DVD player the Playstation2 is still high on my "What I want for Christmas list".
