Nintendo sadlt puts profit over people. Same with sony and sega.
I know but I think they are just trying to make a very large profit but I am not sure.

The games are expensive as it costs a lot to make each games, N64 ones even more as they are on a cartridge.
Developers sell the game to make a profit, they aren't going to sell something at a loss, it just wouldn't be good business. Once they sell enough they reduce the price to try maximise sales.
The reason they are still expensive is because developers are still making new games for them and they have to make money off them.
