With the right joypad and setup your PC can become an old console, it's a bit like stars in their eyes, one minute you have a windows PC and when the smoke clears, out comes a SNES or a Megadrive. So long as you own the original games, there should be no reason for you to not use them on the emulators.
It's an easy and efficient way of playing your games, instead of trying to find all those old cartridges lying around in the dusty box, put the emulator on and scroll down the list of games instead, then get an instant console on a lovely clear monitor!
The other option is to get one of the packs of games by Atari or Konami etc, that seem to be appearing more and more. They contain 'emulated' software so the finished product is virtually the same as the original arcade.
Then again, you could go for an emulator....
The older games are suited to the older systems as developers try to hard to change the origanal!
