Gamecube sales will start to catch up with this new deal, come march with the online stuff coming through and the AAA release of Metroid Prime and then there will be a close fight with the X-box. If my predicition that Metroid Prime OR Mario Sunshine will come bundled with the machine is correct then I wouldn't be suprised if Nintendo reclaime their position, if not Splinter Cell, Hitman 2 and Zelda released within the following 2 months will secure a second place.

But i would like to say something i read some where that does make a bit of sence.

In game shops GC and its games are usually at the back of the shop, and the PS2 and Xbox at the front with advertising all over.

and they said its because GC owners usually know what games they want, so they go straight for them. When PS2 and XBOX owners generally can be swayed by adevertisments etc.

note: im not saying all ps2 and xbox owners are like that, but some of them only have one cause of ads so thats the way it is.

thing is this....

most people i know get games because of what they know of them

tomb raider IS a big series, and i like it too, so when they see the name tomb raider they will think, ah, thats good.

also the same with advertising....they see an advert or poster and it says "the best action etc etc" they will buy it cause they will believe it. I know many of them buy rubbish games cause they have no idea about them and they read the back of the box with it saying "the best" or what ever.

NONE of my mates buy mags, and for me mags are the only way i find out about good games. and the internet but i like mags better cause i can read them and do somin else at the same time.

Unfortunately, the UK is the shallowest region when it comes to gaming, which is why the originality and damn brilliance of Nintendo sometimes goes unnoticed. Luckily though, the GameCube is doing brilliantly in Japan and has secured a comfortable second place in America. Combine that with great Game Boy Advance, Software and Peripheral sales among numerous amounts of merchendise from franchises such as Pokemon and you really needent worry about Nintendo's financial side.

Yea when it comes down too it people just like to have games repeated but the gfx updated a little bit and the characters changed a bit maby, people who buy a console to get original games are the right people because wats the point in the same games its not a challenge!

Mainly to do with Advertising and the fact that Europeans would rather play Tomb Raider 60 and Fifa 6000 than play something that's a bit different and original.
