Don't you just get sick of a game that keeps bringing out sequals? Take Tony Hawks for example how different can a skateboarding game get and i mean it has 4 sequals. The new missions are ones like get the pink elephant, skitch on the back of an elephant or skate near the elephants head. It has almost the same moves on almost the same buttons, and it's obvious that neversoft are running out of ideas as they have included levels from Mat hoffmans pro Bmx and he's sets you missions. Plus, think about it, they have like a 15 year contract enabling them to make maybe a dozen more sequals, I mean who's gonna buy them? I'm bored at no 4 not no 15. Another example is final fantasy, the ps1 have had 9 sequals, I got bored with them ages ago. It just gets on my 'nerves'.
Anyone else think so?

Tsk tsk, a topic moaning about sequels and not one mention of Fifa in the original message. Shame on you.

And as others have said The Final Fantasy series aren't sequels in the true sense of the word and only FFX has an actual sequel for it (something which annoys me alot when there are about 5 or 6 better FF's out there. Although i know why Square did a sequel for 10)

Firstly, as FFF mentioned, Final Fantasy is not one of the games that abuses the sequel potential. Every new FF game is different, not just new characters, but a new battle system, a new character building system, a new planet, a new set of enemies, etc... FFX-2 is the only real sequel, and even that looks to be totally different to FFX. In fact, though it does seem to be set in the same place, with the same characters, its going to be a huge departure from the usual battle system.

As for Tony Hawks, there were two games on PS1, enough to enjoy the game once, and then improve on it the second time round. Then there are the PS2 versions, 3 and 4, which did a similar thing. THPS3 got PS2 owners into it, and THPS4 took it further. I agree that a THPS5 would be pushing it, but that brings me to the next point - why get sick of it when you DON`T HAVE TO BUY IT!!! If you`re fed up of sequels, fine, but there will be people out there who have only just bought a PS2, in which case THPS4 is the obvious choice. Its new, its got the most polished gameplay, the most up to date graphics and the best selection of moves. For a first time THPS player, THPS4 is perfect, but if you own the other 3, and don`t want it, then so what? Don`t buy it!

Ever played Championship Manager? It's great fun, but every single season all that is added are new stats and it is released as a completely new game.

Heh heh heh. What a fool.
The FF series just happen to have the same name, the actual games are completely different every time. It's probably the only game deserving of sequels, and a lot more to come I hope.

And, I bought THPS4 on Friday - I had the 2nd one on PSX - and was quite amazed by how much the game had improved and developed since then.

You should be having a go at Fifa, which really does just throw basically the same game out with a few updates. As do most of the EA Sport series'.

You had a point until you mentioned FF. The PS1 only had two sequels for a start, and second - they are all completely different so you're just moaning for the sxake of it.
