My brother bought a UK PS2 11 months ago... when he switches it on and plays a game it is fine, as soon as he ejects the game and inserts another and presses reset etc the cd drive doesn't seem to recognise anything and the PS2 doesn't boot up the CD or a memeory card screen.
If you power off for more than 30 mins and try again it is fine.
Sounds impossible I know but I have seen it with my own eyes.
He is going to call Sony tomorrow, have any of you been unlucky enough to have the same problem, hae you any suggestions ?

Your knowledge of Paul Daniels is worrying, have you thought of entering Mastermind ?

Resevilfan, even if he resets, changes CD etc (I tried everything), still the same problem, I think Paul Daniels is hiding in his PS2.

Never heard of that problem either.
Make sure its sorted before the guarantee expires. Sounds like a big (expensive) problem.

Haven't heard that one before (??)

Your supposed to change discs immediatly after pressing reset or in the brower/menu screen not during play however I'd still give sony a ring.
