Bad Religion have been around for ages. They are, in my eyes, one of the greatest punk bands around, and unlike many bands who have been around for a long time, they have not 'outstayed their welcome' so to speak. No one can claim this band have sold out, and they still write songs as strongly as they did on their breakthrough album, 'Suffer' released way back in 1988, when I was about three years old. I am a relative newcomer to Bad Religion, and maybe even punk itself, the first Bad Religion album I bought was 'Stranger than Fiction' probably a year or two ago, but since then I have collected the majority of their back catologue, including such classics as 'Suffer', 'No Control', 'Recipe for Hate', and 'Generator' as well as newer material, like 'No Substance', and 'New America'.

On the new album 'Process of Belief' Mr. Brett is back! I have heard five new songs from the album, and all sound absolutely awesome!!! Another change is Bobby Schayer (drums) has been replaced due to injury by Brooks Wackerman, an experienced drummer who appeared on an Infectious Grooves album at the age of just 12!!! I think he has also appeared on some Suicidal Tendencies albums, and played with various other bands. All in all an experienced addition to the line up.

The past few albums (since 'Stranger Than Fiction') have not featured Brett Gurewitz, and although I think the albums released in this time were still great, and included great tracks, they didn't seem to have that spark... that 'Je ne sais quoi' (if that's how you spell it!) But now, with Brett back, and Bad Religion back on Epitaph records, Brett Gurewitz's own label, and the label started to release Bad Religion albums, the band seem to have regained this spark, and an incredible vitality.

On 'The Lockup' on Radio 1 last week, Gregg Graffin and Brett Gurewitz were interviewed, and spoke out on topics as diverse as the young Punk and pop-punk bands of today, the Epitaph 'family' of records, Epitaph Europe, and being a good band. If you didn't catch it, I think you can download it from the BBC website, if you follow the links to the Lockup section.

Bad Religion look set to stun all, fans, critics, and just the general public, with this awesome album! I wait in eager anticipation for this incredible album to be released!

Bad Religion's new album is coming out on January 21st 2002 on Epitaph records! Buy it!
