Hawk 3 flies to GBA
Web posted on 15/1/02 Stunning new shots of Tony Hawk's 3 on the Game Boy Advance, enough to make you want to almost kill yourself on a plank of wood.
The Tony Hawk's series is now legendary, and the Birdman is assured videogame immortality - long after the skater himself is dead and buried, future generations of gamers will still be kickflipping and grinding to their heart's content. Activision have unveiled new screenshots of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 on the Game Boy Advance, and the series looks in better shape than ever.
Much like the fantastic PS2 version, the 'revert' move has been added to the handheld port - this allows you to continue tricks pulled in the air after you hit the ground, effectively leading to longer trick combinations. Faithful representations of the levels from the PS2 game are promised, with six levels making the leap: The Foundry, Rio, Suburbia, Airport, Tokyo and LA. Level interaction has been improved, and pedestrians will foolhardishly wander the streets, waiting to be knocked over. Promisingly, events from the PS2 title are possible to re-inact on the GBA - you can even trigger an earthquake on the LA level, although you'd expect the level of graphical detail to be downscaled ever-so-slightly. Expect hot multi-player action too, with games like HORSE and trick attack surviving the transition.
Tony's third outing (and second on the GBA, after the magnificent THPS2) will be arriving on the Game Boy Advance at the end of March, but be sure to ensure your piece of the hardcore skatefest by pre-ordering your copy now.
I havent got THPS 2 but I want it, now that THPS 3 is gonna come out Ill get that instead.
I hope thatGBA prices come down to £24.99 on SR so I can get it for one of my prize 3 GADs.
