Right now I need some recommendations of a new game to compare with previous thoughts, and I've realised that there are many others who may also need some advice on which new game to get.
Basically, to stop floods of the same topic rolling in, you should post your recommendations in here at anytime, even if no-one asks. Just simply post your opinion on certain games you think another person may like, to help them choose.
REz.
REZ!
You all must play it.
(Oh, and Shox :))

Well, i wasn't into that kind of game, but i heard it was good, so i bought it, and i was really pleased. Well done for posting this topic.

I wouldn't look at those 2 games if you're after the actual quality of the FF series. In my opinion 8 is definitly the worst in the series and 9 is down at the bottom as well. As you said you loved 7 (and how couldn't you) then you must like RPG's so i'd bet you'd like FFX. It's not the best in the series in my opinion but it is up there among the best. The battle system is much better in FFX as well. Not that much waiting around to hit something.
Ico (aargh, it's amazing! Reminds me what a REAL game is all about. Just stay away from walkthroughs!)
Gitaroo man (hugely playable, satisfying and extremely challenging)
Ace Combat 4 - the best pilot game ever.
That's all for now!
I can't wait for Final Fantasy X-2.

I was thinking of getting Final Fantasy X, but i was put off because i didn't think too much to VIII and IX.
I loved VII, though.
What do you reckon i should do?
Also, does anyone know if there's going to be another Fallout sequel any time in the future (Either on PS2 or PC)? I can't get enough of those games!

Seriosuly now, Ratchet and Clank is much better than J&D.
I have both, and my opinion is 100% correct. It's just SO much better.
Get it - even you FM. And you'll see how wrong you are.
I know bullet time is getting old, but this game makes it work a treat, for example.
There was a move shown in Bullet Time where your character grabbed a guys shotgun, pulled in in front of him and took the gun off the guy, then he just got the gun over his shoulder and shot the guy in the face and flipped him over. It's currently my most anticipated game for PS2 at the minute.

Ummmm. Ok. Well. If you hate RPGs then you probably won't like it. But, it's the best one in the series so far, it's a totally self contained story, and it's my favourite game out of the 46 that I currently own.
Out of them I recommend the following if you haven't already got them (bear in mind I like RPGs as my first choice of genre):
Final Fantasy X (reasons stated)
Drakan: The Ancients' Gates (HUGE action adventure, tricky controls at first but worth bearing with).
Jak and Daxter (I hate platformers, this one is so good I recommend it now, so it's that good).
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (you can't get better graphics on your PS2...yet...).
Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec (racer with most longevity)
Timesplitters 2 (easy to get into, even easier to get addicted to, tough to beat on harder levels, best shooter out there)
Frequency (I play this game everyday in an effort to beat it, hardest game I've got).
