I have a PS2 and a couple of American DVD'S that will not play. (For what ever reason they dont work, I new they would not before I got them. You see they were part of a boxset of 8 and wanted them all).
Anyway I was woundering if anyone had seem anything about compatibility issues as with PS2.
Thank in advance
Going to email microsoft to pick their brains.

Yeah you did :) The same problem your having, also probaly effects some of the cheaper stand alone players aswell. It can be a pain to have some DVD's not working while others work fine.
Do you have a launch machine? As launch machines are always the worst to have. X-Box may be better to play the discs as it will be newer. It all depends on if a region changer is brought out for the X-Box.

The PS2 does offer region-x.

Well aware of regional variations.
I am using DVD Region X. Yes the DVD's are region 1. 2 of the 8 dvd's do not work. Had read on Amazon that they would not before ordering in the customer reviews. For what ever reason Bandi did 5 and 6 to a dif standard, which the the PS2 does not like. Technically the DVD's should work on a normal Multiregion DVD player. I was going to get one, but then decided to get an xbox. Thinking that if i was going to spend at least £150 on a player, why not double it and get what hopefully will be a good investment.

Companies may release this type of thing for the X-Box. But the regions are there for a purpose, and arent due to any compatability problem.
