Prisoner of War is in development by Codemasters, and is really beginning to sound like one of those games you must own. The game is set in a german prisoner of war camp, during world war II. There are an agreed set of rules, which if followed will see you safely through to the end of the war, but as per usual, you beging to be a pain in the backside, and try to bring the camp to it's knees, without letting the guards know what your up to.

Now, that to me sounds like strategy, it sounds interesting, it sound innovative and it sounds brilliant. As for the super Snake and his stealth, that's still an aggressive game. One of the developers desriced this game as "pacifist", so it's real nail biting, adrenaline pumping, damn if I get caught doing this, I'm dead type stuff. Just the way MGS2 would be on the hardest difficulty setting without playing through on a lesser setting.

The game has an intuitive save setting, reminiscent of Shenmue, where when you go to sleep, the game saves, and time passes by, but it takes a much more prominent role as the missions have to be completed, quickly efficiently, and without fuss, so the mroe you save, the more time you take in the game world and the less time you have to actually complete you objectives.

Sounds challenging, lets hope it lives up to expectations.

Ive just got the new copy of PCZone (mainly for the Moh:Allied Assault-see my new topic about it in a few minutes)and i was erading the preview of PoW and to me it sounds fanatastic. You have different parts of the day such as Breakfast, Morning exercise etc. Despite a lack of levels the game is gong to be a hit methinks....

Does look like it could be something special. A little similar in thought to Shawshank Redemption. Requires thought and puzzle solving instead of the old shoot your way out.

I've not heard much of this game, but is it the one where there are apparently no weapons for you to use *at all*?

They researched into those sort of real escape attempts, and the game is based heavily on their research, but I don't think it's based on the story exactly.

is it based upon any real people's escape, such as Airey Neave's from Coldiz? It sounds damn good though.
