Most people in the Uk have got some form of computer or console, be it Gameboy or Playstation.
But hen you ask, what did we do before game consoles?
Have they got a firm and strong grip on our lives, or are we all just bored, lazy, lay-abouts?

Can only speak for my self but before consoles i was playing on my Amiga 500/1200. Ahhhhh the good old days *sighs*
I'd be distraught, mainly because I collect games, play games, write about games, read about games and research games for about 80 hours a week.
But then I'd quickly get over it and go back to books. Or go back to full-time work. Maybe both.
I suppose the option most people would choose would be to get involved in another activity, like getting addicted to Coronation Street or EastEnders, but I'm not a big fan of TV personally. The only other drawback I could see is a soaring crime rate as millions of bored teenagers take to the streets with nothing to do.

I have a firm and strong grip on my life in that I enjoy being a lazy lay-about. But I'm not bored :)
If games hadn't come along, I'd probably be coding my own on a PC.
If PCs hadn't come along...(casts mind back 25 years to work out what he was doing back then)...I'd be...I'd be...erm. Reading. A LOT.
