>Nokia N-Gage
>Nokia have put lots of cash into producing a machine which is a lot more powerful than Nintendo's offering, but as the Japanese giants have discovered with the GameCube, a more advanced machine can sometimes be beaten by a PlayStation 2, er... less powerful console.
I don't think the Playstation 2s booming sales are anything to do with tech specs. Don't forget, the Playstation 2 had a huge market already established by the 'tres cool' Playstation. Though the loyalty is somewhat flippant, in terms of numbers it matches Nintendos troopers even today.
Don't forget, either, that the image-conscious teens choice was released a fair few months before the other next-gens.
There are a few other points I could make but you see what I'm getting at. Besides, I've got coursework to finish:(
