My favorite console is the xbox though I dont have one yet it really seems more serious about online gaming than the other two competitors I have to say that I'm really disapponited with the online gaming section of the Playstation 2 as Sony dont seem very serious on this so come xbox launch in March there will still be only one game with an option of playing online, we all know that its Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 so instead of wasting cash on the Playstation 2 Hard Disc Drive and Modem I'm getting myself an xbox instead as the developers have already used this extra features to make games better and thats one reason that the launch games look better than the playstation 2 second generation games, also xbox games are anti aliased unlike most Playstation 2 games and another thing is that developers find the Playstation 2 the hardest console to make games for but they get the hang of it but you must be aware that the Sege Saturn flopped and one reason was because it was hard to develop games for.
Since it is very difficult to develop games for some games may not be ported from other console so maybe Resident Evil 4 may never make it on the Playstation 2 because Mikami-san would not bother if he cant port it from the gamecube to the Playstation 2 or it might take a long time before the Playstation 2 gets it. The reason that there was no Resident Evil on the Sega Saturn was the fact that Mikami-san couldnt port it from the Playstation. Thats why you'll notice that games coming to all three consoles are first developed for the Playstation 2 before they are made for the Xbox and gamecube as it is easier for developers to port the game from the Playstation 2 to the other consoles than vice versa, this might be a good thing as Playstation 2 owners get the games first but also the Xbox and Gamecube version are graphically superior as fetures like anti aliasing are much easier to implement plus the Xbox has a built in Hard Disc Drive which makes developers sure that every user will benefit from this feature so the Xbox version thanks to the Hard Drive will have less loading times and also improves the graphics.

It's hard to decide on which console is best overall. Right now, the PlayStation 2 is looking great, and growing.
Sony has many companies, new and old, supporting their new machine with many exclusives, not to mention sequels and remakes.
The PS2 Hard Disk Drive will also be with us shortly, providing Broadband connection to aid us with super-speeds to the Internet, where gamers can play online with other players, send e-mail, browse the Net, just like on a PC...only 100 times better and more exciting, and on your TV screen, instead of a monitor. Just imagine what it will be like to play against others in Quake, GT3 Concept, Time Splitters, and other fabulous multiplayer titles online.
