Quick question.

When you guys order your import games from either DVD BO of importmadness (if anyone has tried them yet) do you have to pay any import duty or tax when the game arrives? In the FAQ section of DVD BO it says that you are responsible for paying any tax or duty your country requires, they just charge you the stated price. So does this mean when the game arrives, you have to fork out more cash for tax.

only reason i ask is that with the tax on top it makes a quite a bit of difference to the overall price. If you don't have to pay the tax, then it's a bargain! Mate of mine ordered a JAP cube from Lik Sang a year or so ago and he had to pay import tax when the machine arrived at his front door - had to pay the DHL guy something like 40 quid.

Is this the same with games or do they go un noticed.

So, in sum. Do you play import tax onto of the price when buying from the Canadian based sites like DVD BO or Importmadness?

Cheers guys...

it depends, items marked as gifts, dont have to have any duty paid on them, and the same for those under £18 in value,

apparently items which are less than £35 customs wont bother with, and so your alright, but some companies, dont mark their items, or they mark them as gifts to avoid you paying duty on them, of your ordering 1 game then you probably wont have to pay anything extra,

I have ordered five games so far from DVD Box Office and didn't have to pay duty on any of them
They are a good company to deal with but they do take a while to deliver so be patient

As for the Gamecube thing - I also ordered from Lik Sang and had to pay over 60 quid duty - boy was I taken aback

Hope this helps

That has also answered my question about the same thing since I'm only going to buy 1 GBA game from America which only costs £20.71p, so i don't have to pay anything over that price, coolsky!

You better be joking about paying the delivery guy?! I have just ordered Winning Eleven 6 Final Edition from Lik Sang at a price of £43.67 (including delivery), does this mean I will have an extra charge to pay when the game is delivered? Please would someone clear this up. Thanks.
