I don't really understand it.
My first gut reaction is jealousy, they don't like the fact that there could be someone enjoying playing a game on a different console that they don't own. So by saying the other console suck they feel a bit more pride or safety in the console they own. Then I thought that maybe the played one, tried it and didn't like it so made there views known that they didn't like it.
But then maybe it is just they are really stupid enough to believe some of the stuff that they are saying. Or is it just me...
Take music as an example, some people like bands that others hate etc. Same with consoles, some people will like one console and others will like another.
All comes down to personal opinion.
But the one thing I don't understand is some of the views come from people who have never played the console or experienced what it has to offer.
Which is the point of this post. There are three big consoles out at the moment, then there is the PC market. Combined that is a lot of games. As we all know it is games that matter and not consoles, sadly for most certain great games are always exclusive to one console. So you could say someone with one console is only experiencing a quarter of the great games out there. I own a PS2, Gamecube and PC for the single reason that I love gaming, I feel lucky that I can experience a lot of great games that are exclusive to the PC, PS2 or gamecube and dare I say it if I could afford it I would probably get an XBox just to experience what it has to offer.
I'll not go into the reasons why I bought a PS2 and Gamecube because it was just my personal opinion that they would have the games that appeal to me most. Others will have different reasons. I just can't see why so many people out there who seem to love games have to come on here and post such crap about how the thing they don't have sucks.
Ok sometimes people make valid points, some can be quite funny but the usual fanboy nonsense really does make me wonder if people are just scared to experience something else...
Ninty fanboys to scared to try another console incase they actually like it, everyone having a go at microsoft for producing something that actually works quite well.
Right I know the costs all add up, without the free games from here I doubt most would be lucky enough to experience great games on one console let alone a few and a PC.
Just don't see why people on here don't appreciate the great games on all consoles and enjoy what they have the chance to play instead of putting it down.
There has been a lack of decent discussions on here or even valid reasons why they dislike certain games and consoles.
So I ask anyone who shares my views to join in, appreciate what is on offer and discuss certain points about the industry that work or others that need improved, discuss them with valid points and get feedback that is worth reading.
Also to the others who don't share these views, I feel sorry for you that you aren't experiencing all the great games out there.
Enjoy playing the odd great game while the rest of us enjoy more and more great games.
Why not experience them all??
For those who are wanting or are experiencing as much games as they can I have a few things to ask. Hope to hear your views.
1. Consoles, computers you have owned.
2. Best games you have ever played.
3. Best gaming moment
4. favourite console you have owned (due to the most great games on it)
for me
1. Atari, Commadore amiga 500, amstrad, Dragon32, Snes, PSX, PS2, Gamecube, PC
2. There have been a few, I used to love Bionic Commando on the amstrad. First resident evil was great. The freedom in GTA3 was also great.
3. Been loads. Liked the days when I got a new console or a new great game that when you load it up gets you excited.
4. I've liked them all.
ANyway:
1) Commodore 64, NES, Mega Drive, SNES, AMiga 500 or 5000 I think, Playstation, Playstation 2, Gamecube. GBC, and GBA if they count too.
2) Mostly on the C64 with names unbeknown to me. Trolls on the Amiga, and Mario 3 on the NES all ruled.
3) Probably completing MArio Bros for the first time ever. I was only five at the time. SO that was great.
> 1. Consoles, computers you have owned.
Spectrum ZX & ZX81, BBC, Acorn Electron, Atari, Commadore 64, Sharpe, PC, Master system, Mega Drive, Mega CD, PSX, PS2, Dreamcast, Gamecube, Gameboy & GB Advance, N64.
> 2. Best games you have ever played.
The Dizzy games, Rollercoaster, Jolly Jack (very rude text advanture but so much fun when you play it at a sleep over when your around 14), Final Fantasy series, Ultima series, Grandia series, Monkey Island series, Suikoden series, Xenogears, Devil may Cry, Onimusha series.
> 3. Best gaming moment
Completeing a game and feeling sad because you just want it to go on and not end. Thats when I know I spent my money well. Also I love tear jerker moments in games, where you can feel your eyes welling up and you sit there thinking damn this is only a stupid game it shouldn't be affecting me like this. There are also lots more.
> 4. favourite console you have owned (due to the most great games on
> it)
All of them, I only buy a console when there are enough games that I want out or coming out for it. But if I had to choose then I'm going to say Dreamcast, because its the only console that I can get out for less then an hour and have lots of fun with. The other consoles eat away at my life, but with the DC you can use it just for short periods and still get all the satisfaction. With games like Space Channel 5 and Samba De Amigo. Also when I first saw the DC in action It blow me away, I was like WOW, up untill that point I only had the PSX. That never happend with the other next gen consoles, because although some of the graphics and affects where better then the DC, There wasn't such a big differnce between them as there was the PSX and DC.
Oh, good post btw
