The X Box has DVD Playback, but we have to pay an extra £28 to use it...?

Can it play multi region DVD and does anyone know about the quality?

That's about it.

Does the X Box have ANY advantages over the PS2 other than the 4 control ports, stats, visuals, Dolby 5.1 and launch line up?

Just to clarify... PS2 also supports Dolby 5.1 as well as DTS.

I doubt that the remote control will make the X-box and all region DVD player. From what I have read the DVD features are pretty good for the remote. It has tons of fast forward and rewind options with the fastest being 32x. Should be equaly quality to the PS2 if not a little better.

The remote is need to play DVD's as microsoft would have had to pay more money as Tax or something because it has the ability to play DVD's. When people buy a games console they dont neccessary want a DVD player, so this extra money microsoft have to pay out is a waste. So they decide to spend the extra money on the console and then if X-Box owners want a DVD player they can buy the remote.

Dunno? I wouldnt have tohught so...

They only took away the remote control so the X-Box would be considered a games console... the tax on shipping each unit costs a lot more if its a general entertainment system??

Besides... I suspect that the vast majority of PS2 owners who use the machine to play DVD's have grabbed themselves a remote?
