Hmm.
As far as I was aware it does have sound, but only in the very basic sense. e.g, various bleep tones.
I'm sure it does have sound...
Anyway, OPS2 are running a feature about it that's pretty interesting. A USB keyboard is virtually a necessity though.

OPS2M has a monthly feature about YABASIC programming which is preety cool just to get a little understanding of the principles of YABASIC.
I doubt anyone's really spent much time playing with YABASIC because without a keyboard it's painfully slow.

It was put on so Sony didn't have to pay any console tax and class the PS2 as a computer but it's useless, Doesn't even have any sound support :-(
You will never see a decent home made Yabasic game for the simple reason that the software is too simple. The initial idea was to have something as powerful as the Yaroze PSXs... but that would cost too much (after all, a Yaroze ps2 cost £400!)
Saying that, I'm gonna try to make some cool demos when I get time... maybe I could a rotating cube... errrr...
Oh, and does anyone know of websites with Yabasic code and demos on???

I suppose that people who would use the Net Yaroze Playstation would use it. I posted a topic ages ago about this on these forums (I think) or it may have been other forums. I, for one, would use the YABasic if I knew how, but I don't. I would just get a USB keyboard and it would be easy. In the Official UK PS2 Magazine, they have monthly instalments to make games on YAbasic.
