Just a quick thought on a situation I don't really agree with.

The fact is, FOG Chat is designed for chat (hence the name) but, due to the fact that NEWBIES cannot start new topics in the FOG Prime Topics forum, how can we write articles that are (by definition) supposed to be for 'PRIME' discussion?

We're constraint to posting in the Chat forum and posts then often end up lost in a sea of "chat".

Anyone sympathise with the problem or should I just stop moaning?

Or ask someone to start a thread in Prime with your topic heading and then post a reply with your original stuff.

On chat, you need an interesting title to get the post noticed.

Then stick a question at the end, to try to get more replies, so it will stick around for longer!

Also, it's worth checking the threads in Prime for anything relevant to what you wish to post, and posting it as a reply to something else.

I guess there's an easy soloution. I'll post a heap load of [insert word of choice here (clue: any words you were bought up NOT to use)] here to get myself up to Regular status and then I can use the Prime forum.

Of course i'm not ACTUALLY going to do this, but it doesn't really help the system as i'm sure people HAVE done this to get access to the Prime forum.

Well, the alternative is to post it in the relevant consol forum (Sony, Ninty, etc). Those forums could do with a little more activity.

You're being punished for the sins of a few, I'm afraid. But that's the way it is. At least this way people who do post junk get used to putting it in this forum, and still do so when they become regulars.

I include myself in that 'group' because all my thought out and well constructed posts are to be found here, but I wonder if it'd be better to have the Prime forum open to everyone so it can serve it's purpose?

A lot of people post a lot of good, or serious topics in FOG chat, even when they have the choice, simply because it gets a larger audience.

Your topic won't get lost, if it's worth reading ans discussing, it will find it's way to the top of the heap.
