Todays episode. The one where Homer has to find his soul-mate. That is the exact episode where I thought "Hmmm, they've really lost their way" and stopped paying attention. All the older episodes had morals and decent storylines. Groening should have stopped whilst he was ahead.

I personally thought that the Simpsons were trying to BE funny instead of being naturally funny. Too much effort.

Heh, I like all things along that line (Simpsons, South Park, King of the hill etc)

Cartoon = Cool
Acting funny, telling jokes = Cool
Nonsence killing and swearing and violence and stuff = Cool

Add them together! South Park, Simpsons and King of the Hill!

For me, the new Simpsons suck and the old Simpsons rocks. The jokes may still be there, but they're not as fluid as they have been previously, being held back further by the dwindling quality in the plot lines. Apparently loads of the script writers left to do King of the Hill - which would explain a lot, because that's round about when the Simpsons got crap.

The new episodes may have a much more unusual and delulded plot but they are a lot more funny.

My favourite episode is the one where they get a tennis court. I like it not because it is a spineless episode with no plot that was reached by Homer not wanting to pay for his fathers funeral but because it is a hilarious laugh which is the actual basis of the Simpsons. If you want a serious programme then this was never, isn't and will never be your answer.

The Simpsons shouldn't be based on morals because it wouldn't be as funny. Homer makes many jokes to do with his lack of morals.
