Maybe I missed it, I didn't have any Nintendo consoles until I wanted to play Goldeneye whenever I felt like it, and to be fair, most of Nintendo's offerings on the N64 weren't too hot. Bar Mario and Mario Kart, there wasn't a great deal to sing and shout about from the big N. So where does this die hard loyalty and absolute confidence in ability come from? Nintendo are a good games developer, I have seen there work on a hand-held scale. The GB, GBC and GBA are all excellent and backed by games such as Pokemon, Mario platformers and Zelda (the GB version was immense).

So what is it that makes Nintendo so blatantly loved by these fans. Didn't you feel even a little let down after the farce that was the N64? It was the poorest console of all time, well maybe not as bad as the Saturn, but it had little third party support, the games were expensive and it took a truely massive beating from the PSOne. Tell me, why do you adore them so much??

There was 2 class Zelda games, (I don't know how you missed its brilliance but the greatness was there for the rest of us), F-Zero X (the fastest racer i've played. Not graphically amazing but immensely fast, playable and very intense).

Mario Tennis was a lot of fun to play, as was Smash Brothers, one of the greatest multiplayer games ever.
Those are a few examples of great Nintendo games.

It was better than the Playstation.
Definately not as popular or successful but better quality and more advanced.

There has not been an PSOne FPS better than Perfect Dark (I don't know whether it even bettered Goldeneye...), there was never a 3D platformer better than Mario.
The Playstation didn't even TRY to compete in the four player arena, and if it had done, it would've failed miserably.

It missed out on some neat third party titles like Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil, but, as good these third party titles are, I much sooner be playing Nintendo and Rare's creations.

It took a massive beating a popularity only.
Third party support was a downfall but Nintendo seem to be making amends on that.
Yes, it was expensive but the games tended to last twice as long as Playstation games.
Also, I've get to find a company (and Rare can be counted as Nintendo) who has a list of fourplayer games better than:

Goldeneye
Perfect Dark
Mario Kart
F-Zero X
Conkers Bad Fur Day
Smash Brothers
Mario Tennis

etc...

Sure, we missed out on big epics like Final Fantasy, but Zelda's "do things your own way instead of being led the way of the story" gameplay anyway.

Ninty have many great franchises, and despite what you may think (I'm not trying to tell you to change your opinion mind, but just acknowledge other peoples) many games mags (multi-format mags too, including Edge) said that Nintendo titles were among the best, and I think it was Edge a year or two ago listed a top 100 games, and I think it was 6 or around that were Nintendo titles (or only out on Ninty consoles). That is why they have such a loyal following. They have revolutionised gaming more than once, a feat to be proud of, and that only a very small handful of developers acheive once let alone many times. Nintendo are widely recognised as one of the greatest developers around. That is why we like them. (oh and they have Rare too!)

Nintendo are loved by their fans due to the top quality gaming produced aswell as being suitable for all ages. I didn't feel even a tiny bit let down by the N64, especially after Mario, Zelda and ISS! How can you call it the poorest??? The games were expensive cuz they're carts, not CD's, and the PSX got more people due to the piracy!

But if it was all done fairly and legaly, then Nintendo would've won. It was all down to those stupid chips, causing the games' companies to lose money! How can PS fans expect to see more top games if they're denying the companies their money???
