Well said Sonic Rav. Also Newbies, use your time as Newbies well to learn from others. So that you'll know how to act proffesionally in these forums, when you eventually become a Regular.
The only time i've EVER spammed was when the WLT was trying to get 1000 posts. But I was already a Regular then and didn't need the high post counts.

as the OLDEST(and hence wisest) member of these forums, here are my commands:
1) Ok, I don't mind this topic... it's fine. BUT imagine if every new person wrote a topic like this asking for the rules! It would be chaos. Anyway, the official rules are on www.gameaday.co.uk
2) Don't SPAM. That means don't just reply to posts with stupid one word answers! (Usually people do this to increase their word count, and therefore become a "regular"). By replying to topics with good posts, putting forward you views in something, you will not only not get banned from the site (for not SPAMMING!), but will also gain respect from the other members
3) Don't be biased. Neither Sony, nor MS, nor Nintendo is "the best". They're all good in different ways... being biased just makes you sound like an idiot.
4) HAVE FUN! Remember, unlike real life, this site os about the participation, and NOT the winning of games (although that's nice!). It took me 3 months to get my first win, and since then I win when I least expect it! Oh, and don't think new people have less chance of winning... it's totally based on the QUALITY of what you write :)

Hrrmmm....I don't know..... I just learnt my lessons along the way...
