I was reading the latest issue of the Official PS2 magazine, and I got to the last page which had the heading, "What if games characters lived among us"?
Well, what if this was a fact of life. What if one day, you were strolling down town, when Solid Snake run past with his silencer. Or Tails flew past carrying Sonic around with him. The world whould certainly be a different place wouldn't it.
No more terrorism as there would be the likes of Solid Snake and Jack Wade to keep the peace. There would be green pipes everywhere, with Mario and Luigi jumping in and out of them.
But let's not forget about some of those bad guys. Robitnik in his many creations trying to take over the world, and hunters jumping around chopping peoples heads off with one swipe.
But would they become instant celebraties? I suppose they would. Well, at least the most popular ones would. If Solid Snake would be spotted, women would go rampant and riot for an autograph, where as the Army Men figures trot past and everyone gets out there lighters.
So basically, games would be like movies to these characters. The humans would star in films, the films would make loads of money as do the people who star in them, and they become celebraties. Games characters would star in games, the games could make loads of money, the characters becomes a celeberaty.
The way consoles are progressing, games will become more and more closer to being the real thing. Some games are coming worryingly close to looking like it already. With games becomeing more and more realistic, it probably wouldn't be hard to imagine something like this. Of course, it isn't an everyday thing to imagine jumping about with Mario and Luigi, but hey.
Anyway, I am off to have a race with Sonic and Knuckles. See you around.

If the world was populated by game characters, we'd all be screwed. There'd be a never ending round of kidnapping of president's daughters, holding countries to ransom with NBC weapons, invasions from outer space (which luckily would be repelled by a lone new fighter aircraft), and general plotting to take over the world. Within a matter of weeks, most of the civilised world would be a smoking hole.
However, it begs an interesting question. Who would get the most teenage stalkers?

I think that in the far future we'll be linking our brains into computer generated worlds, matrix style.

Hey! I like Sqirrels!
I got a few that live in a tree just behind my house. They are pritty cool actually. I feed them monkey nuts every day, and they bury extra ones all over the garden for when i forget to feed them :D
BUt your right, it would be soooooooo cool to have a Pikachu. I dont care what people say about it pokemon being babyish, I'm 18 and i'd love a pikachu.
