I have just got the following information from cube-europe regarding the Gamecube launch in the UK ! ! !
"Nintendo have just announced that the GameCube will debut in Europe just a few weeks ahead of its official European consumer launch at Milia 2002. The event will take place on the 4th to the 8th of February 2002.
There, Nintendo will apparently show 20 brand new games (what they mean by this is unknown) and also make the announcement we have all being waiting for. On the 5th of February European Managing Director - Sales and Marketing, David Gosen and Stephan Bole, Managing Director of Nintendo France are to host an exclusive press conference - where the European GameCube launch date will be marked!"

They gonna give a launch date a month before release?
I suppose the gap between the announcement hype and launch will be smaller so sales should be better for the Cube. But aint we getting a really small shipment of Gamecubes? PS2 style launch? Better preorder soon...

Goddamit you fool, I was just about to post about this!! GRRR!! Oh well, at least this is really good news. What's even more exciting is that the press release said they'd state the actual launch date merely a few weeks away from the actual date! This suggests sometime round the beginning of March!!
