What I found with SP was fairly lacklustre gameplay... I know the moves are there, and it is, more or less, THPS3 on Snow, but with the multi-player especially it just seems to dull.
On the other hand, the game's realism didn't go unmerited. The physics were better, and you could do what a snowboarder could do no moe no less... perfect for people who like that... kinda, maybe... you know.
Personally I like SSX Better, it's quick, flashy, easy to learn - hard to master, there are loads of routes and pathways, and the Uber tricks are totally radical... I mean err... cool. I think it's more suited to the PS2 range of pick up and play titles. Shaun Palmer belongs on X-Box - with the other realistic titles like Project Gotham and Amped.
It's probably all down to preferance, but the whole 'funky' idea of SSX Tricky seems much more appealing. I mean, we're talking about snowboarding here... not Indoor Bowls, or Lawn Darts... it's supposed to be cool, and hip! If shaun Palmer was a bit brighter with a bit more flare, it'd be great, but it isn't.
I'd recommend SSX Tricky, it's just more fun to play... the multi-player rules, and the tricks are wicked!

I said exactly that about SSX. Until I became good at it, then it rocked. Tricky is very unrewarding for beginners, and as they say, practice makes perfect, and in this case, the game becomes much more of a fun experience.
