Just got my copy of Edge today, and besides the "interesting" front cover, there's an article on audio. Now, I've got my eyes on the Videlogic ZXR-500 speakers, but apparently it only supports Pro Logic, and not Pro Logic II - which is used for many GC and PS2 games I have. So... what's the difference? And can I still play Pro Logic II enhanced games with the speakers with proper 5.1 sound coming from the speakers, despite them not supporting the standard?
You're better off going straight for Dolby Digital, which will support the other formats and also your dvds.
If you've got the cash, invest in a digital amp to connect to your consoles and replace your home stereo at the same time. Richer sounds are doing the Alchemist 6:1 amp for £150 which is very nice and very cheap. You'll need speakers on top, but you'll get a far, far, far better sound than you will from the kit you're looking at.
use your ps2 as a cd player until you get a seperate unit, and you will also have a home stereo that everyone will be jealous of.
