I don't know what came over me but I needed a book to read and felt like reading "The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe".
It may be aimed at an audience much younger then me but who cares. Classic book! And now I'm reading Magicians Nephew after finishing "Lion witch wardrobe" in 2 days.
Definitely were my favourite books when I was younger along with Roald Dahl. What was your favourite book as a child?

I tried reading the first Chronicals of Narnia book when I was young, but it was all upper class nonsense, really put me off
I never got around to reading them all as a child. I couldn't get into them. Now I'm going to try again!
Roald Dahl rocked. My favourite I think was "The Twits" but I also liked "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" but preferred "The Great Glass Elevator. I also liked "Matilda".
