“And on the sixth day, G-d created man…”
The 6th day starring the all time great Arnold Schwarzenegger is a film that I will remember and want to watch time and time again.
I will be the first to agree that Schwarzenegger has not always made great films, however this is one of which I am sure you will find truly entertaining.
The story is based in the not so distant future when cloning plants, pets and human organs is accepted. However, in The 6th Day a corporate company has taken it upon themselves to clone entire humans. Although illegal, they still continue to do so time and time again. Clones are cloned and so on and so forth.
Arnold Schwarzenegger (Adam Gibson), a highly skilled helicopter pilot is about to celebrate his birthday. That night as he arrives home to a very strange and out of the ordinary event. What happened? Well I wont spoil it, as I am sure you will find out.
The story continues with a great twist of everything you watch happening. At first, all appears to go according to a regular Schwarzenegger movie. The great thing is that it does exactly the opposite. Nothing you see actually appears to happen the way you would expect it to be. You have to look out for these things and concentrate as this is a movie that is equally balanced between action and what is said. If you don’t listen you could miss out on a very vital piece of information that explains the entire concept of this movie and what is actually going on. To be quite honest, considering it has happened already with the fact that cloning has begun in a small way, it is something that I am sure is possible in years to come. Obviously, not in the way as shown in this film, but similar.
The cast is very strong and the director sure knew how to add the great special effects that is required in a movie of this kind. In addition, the storyline is great and the twist that it has; leaving you with a big question as to thinking “What the hell…” is fantastic.
The DVD which I have bought and seen 3 times, has many features and the special effects used for the menu system is great.
Be sure not to miss out on seeing this movie. I give this movie a 9/10 thumbs up!
