Sony have decided to put back the release of this game in Europe in order to compete with Xmas2002 for attention.
Christmas Day has long been pencilled in for December 25th this year, but Sony's bold move could for them to change the date.
Final Fantasy X is now scheduled to be released on the 20th December, mere days before Christmas, and it would no doubt overshadow the celebration of the birth of Christ.
I spoke to a man that claimed to be a reincarnation of Jesus about this, and he had the following to say "My Father, the Lord God is adamant that I was born on the 25th. He wasn't at the birth, he's not sure he was even there for the conception, but he doesn't want to see the date changed." The man then took a large sip from a can of Special Brew, and vomitted on my shoes. In the sick I could clearly make out the letters 'FFX'.
Gamers all over Europe will be fuming about this latest delay, especially as it isn't to make any improvements to the game. A fan of the Final Fantasy games, Analion said the following "I've been longing to continue my quest, to travel deep within this fantasy world to collect obscure items to defeat strange monsters, but no, it cannot be! Sony's insistance upon taking on every competitor is not only stupid, but upsetting many many gamers. I do, however, feel that it could work in Sony's favour, especially if they power up their GF's to a high level. Santa won't know what hit him!"
If Final Fantasy X is released on December 25th, how exactly will it impact Christmas though? It is believed that this will be amongst the best selling titles to grace the PS2, and the nature of the came is so immersive, that anyone purchasing the game may miss Christmas altogethe, which would clearly be a huge victory for Sony.
It's thought unlikely that the date of Xmas will move, but anything is possible.
in the end though it could come down to 'gamer-power. If enough people kick up a stink about this Sony may think twice about delaying the release of FFX for such a long time, and find something else to compete against Christmas with.
Meka, when you venture into my territory of helpful nonsense posting, you will be consumned with disbelief at replies.
Give the man a gong.......
