Over 10 000 cats were asked 'if they could have any next generation console, which would it be?' Though some of the felines went for the Playstation 2 and Xbox the response to the Gamecube was absolutely outstanding.
It also should be noted that no kittens were included in the survey, which could indicate that Nintendo are making a huge impact in the market they most desire, the more mature gamers.
Upon hearing the results Don B. Daff of Nintendo Europe was over the moon. "All of our recent work in marketing the console towards cats is really working well! Some of my co-workers were a little sceptical about pasta Gamecube shapes in tuna and jelly being used to promote the product, but this proves I was right."
Nintendo's main rivals were quick to laugh this off, with Microsoft insisting that they already had the much more important monkey market sown up, and a spokesman for Sony, Archibald Neckwarmer released the following statement:
"I wish to congratulate Nintedno for their achievements in the cat consoel market, but we here at Sony see this as an empty achievement. It has been shown that cats have only 80% of the disposable income they had in the last generation, so a console will not be a 'must have' for them, especially considering the must have factor of the Sony Mewbile Phone that we're releasing later in the year.
Also, I'd like to take this opportunity to announce a special new version of Metal Gear Solid 2. 'Bones of Liberty' will be marketting towards dogs, and early test show it to be particularly pleasing to a dogs senses."
So it's official, Gamecube, 9 out of 10 cats prefer it!
