Have you ever fallen asleep whilst playing a videogame?
I thought it would never happen to me, but last night, well I only found out this morning, that I fell asleep in the middle of Ratchet & Clank. I left this game untouched for a while because of Deadly Alliance and for some reason I picked it up and started to play it, at about 12am. Strange I know.

Now what does this tell you? When you look at the above question you would immediately think that if I fell asleep in the middle of something it either means it had very little appeal, meaning it was plainly a terrible game. But you'd be wrong you see because it's a fantastic game, which begs another question that I still haven't been able to figure out yet. How the hell did I manage to fall asleep (bearing in mind that I held a pad in my hand and was sitting up straight) in between play? I seriously cannot remember, but I have a clue how it might have happened. Everytime I think of it, I keep picturing myself falling back on the bed in a gourmless zombie-type manner, but I don't understand how the impact didn't wake me back up? But saying that, it may not have happened that way. Maybe I was so tired that I just left the telly and everything on and snuggled up in bed. That sounds a lot like me, but this matter still remains a mystery.

Have you ever chewed on your accessories?
That question to me sounds beyond reality, but after going over to my mates house for, things became a lot more real. My mate just happens to have a PS2 and he asked some of us to bring some of our own games and controllers. I brought a pad and a couple of games and so did some others, and it was after everyone revealed what they had brought with them that I saw a totally different side to one of my distant mates, a side Buffy herself wouldn't be proud of. This person had *kindly* brought with him a control pad with good intentions, so no-one was complaining, that was until he eventually got it out of his bag. The analogue sticks were chewed to pieces, and at first I thought his pet dog was the culprit, but no, how horribly wrong I was because this was the work of himself. I wish I could show you a picture, it was so unbelievable. The whole of the analogue sticks had been chewed to pieces to an extent that no-one went near that pad for the rest of the night. It was called the 'Vampad' for the whole of our stay, simply for the fact that it resembled the work of a vampire. The picture generated by my mind of this person chewing on his own control pad is very savage and still seems very wrong...very wrong! We could only guess what state his PS2 and games were in.

Have you ever sold a game for half a twirl?
I could not believe what went through my ears yesterday when my friend David told me, whilst we were playing this game, that it was given to him for half a twirl. What game? It was Robot Wars, a fairly pants game, but would you give it away for half a twirl? Plus he told me that it was Phil (another of my good mates) who had sold it to him. I rang him up as soon as I got home and told him I had a packet of Celebrations right in front of me. He was a bit confused by this, then I told him of what I heard and he laughed. Still in the state of shock, I cunningly tried to woo him for a similar offer, but to no avail. Surely this is madness! If people are selling videogames for half a twirl now what good news is this for the future? Maybe bad news for developers, but it's certainly good news for the social community.

Have you ever forgotten to put a game you want to play in the actual console? I have.

Have you ever played a game for a whole day?
The longest time I've ever spent on one individual game is about four hours and surprise surprise, that game just happens to be GTA3. It was when it first came out and I was simply hooked, but not hooked enough to let a videogame swallow away a whole day of my time. I didn't think it was humanly possible myself because after a couple of hours of continuous play, games become terribly repetitive and playing after so long would simply be forceful. But, to my utter amazement, one of my mates who just bought the game he'd been waiting for, for ages, played it for a whole day.

It happened like this. I woke up at around half nine in the morning and after getting ready and everything I decided to ring this friend to ask him if he wanted to come shopping with me and a few others, and then go and watch The Two Towers afterwards. He said he was too busy. I asked him what he was too busy doing and he said he was playing. I precautiously asked what he was playing, and he said Smackdown! First of all, I thought he didn't like videogames and then when I heard Smackdown things seemed unreal. I argued with him for a while to try and bring him round to his senses, but it didn't work. So, at about half twelve in the afternoon, me and the boys went out to town, bought albums and stuff, watched The Two Towers (quality!) and I arrived back at around 11pm. I decided to ring him to tell what he had missed out on, then after I told him I asked (as you do) what he was doing now? He said he was still playing Smackdown...my jaw instantly dropped. First the shock of him buying a wrestling game, then the shock that he had been playing it for an entire day! His tired laugh on the phone echoed thoughts that he had been forcing himself to play most of the time - typical effects of boredom! Well, I did ask him to come out! Madness!

Have you ever cried because of a game?
I haven't, but I was near to the state of tears because of bloody MOH: Frontline, which became impossible to work with. I kept having to restart the same levels and go through the same intense torture and it was like hell! It's one of those likeable games that if you're not good at it can become very freakish. Really sad films may get the odd tear or two, but games?...NAAA!

That's it for now. Your contribution would be greatly appreciated. Try answering a few of those questions or two.

Blow in a dog's face and it gets proper angry.
Yet it delights in jamming it's head out of the window in cars.

Go figure

Heh, I watched the 51st state the other day, in which Sam Jackson brings up the point that balls is bad, but the dogs balls is good.

I would say that licking balls is bad, unless they're dogs ball.

I've fallen asleep playing Tekken 3 or Street Fighter EX + Alpha.

Usually after a heavy drinking bunge in the student union, followed by an epic PSOne binge into the later hours of the morning.

Yes, when I was too wasted after a night out. I think the game was Ridger Racer quite a few years back now.

Have you ever chewed on your accessories?
No, never. That's almost sacrilegious.

Have you ever sold a game for half a twirl?
No but i once swapped a broken tari Lynx for 5 top Megadrive games....

Have you ever forgotten to put a game you want to play in the actual
console?
Yes - i switched it on expecting it to be in there then curse furiously when I discovered it wasn't.

Have you ever played a game for a whole day?
Yes, ALL THE TIME. Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Zelda...any good games get the extended play they deserve.

Have you ever cried because of a game?
Yes, through sheer frustration. I think the game was the original Megaman on the NES. I did sniff a bit when whathername died on FF7...but I didn't cry.
