"Converting a PS1 save to a PS2 save..........."

I have got a PS1 and I have some saves on the memory card that I want to keep when I convery to PS2.

I know you have to have a new memory card for the PS2 but is there any way, other than starting again, that I can transfer the saved data to a PS2 memory card?

i remember when i got FFIX i asked the guy whether i could use the ps2 mem card to save.
when i got home and found out you couldn't MY GOD i was annoyed...

you can "back up" your PS1 saves onto a PS2 memory card although frequent transfer between the 2 damaged my PS2 card along with the saves so can't say that i recommended it ;-)

yer its annoying really though because its a cash out when you easily have enough space on the ps2 card :(

You can archive your PS1 saves onto a PS2 memory card, but you cant load up a save from the PS2 memory card. As every one else has said PS1 saves can only be used with PS1 memory cards if you plan to use the save again.

You can save on PS1 memory cards in your PS2. But they have to be for PS1 games on the PS1 card.
Put it this way- PS1 Games ONLY on PS1 memory cards. The same applies for PS2 games-it only works on the PS2 memory card.

Hmmmm, not to my knoweldge.

To use saved data with a PSone game you gotta use a PSone memory card. You cant save any Psone game data onto a PS2 memory card.

Is that what u are getting at? u wanna run your game from a PS2 memory card? cant be done...
