doesnt it seem that some game makers are just bleeding the life out of games for instance:

The sims

good game when it first came out it had a new idea but now after a few expansion pack it seems that all they want is the most money out of the idea with the last expansion pack being a bit of a let down and the sims online costing quite a bit to play it is quite obvious all they want is MONEY

Sim city

not as out of ideas as the sims but still it is in its 6th version including the 3 different sim city 3000's the graphics have gotten better but it still has not gotten much better in game play over the years.

Championship manager

this game hasnt seemed too get much better through the new versions only the teams have changed i hope that championship manager 4 is better and has lots of new features

Sequels can be good, in some cases even better than the original (commandos 2 for example) but once you start getting to the threes and fours in the series, then the new and original ideas stop, and slightly improved interfaces and better graphics take over.

To some this will be a problem, due to a lack of anything new, however to other people, fans of the series or newcomers, these games are still worth the money. They might not do anything new, but they keep certain people happy, and if anyone doesn't like it, well there are plenty of other game out there to choose from, so it's not as if you "have" to play Sim City 4 or The Sims many expansion packs.

I agree, look at the Tomb raider series, absolute rubbish, the only good one (I haven't played the first) is the second one, and possibly the fifth. I don't mind lots of shooters, so long as they're all different and have new features, ala Max Payne, Heavy Metal, Enter The Matrix, Project IGI, Return To Castle Wolfenstein, Soldier Of Fortune Two, Splinter Cell, Blood Rayne. but shooters like Sin, which don't really have many outstanding features bore me quickly. As for the sims, I have the original, it is Okay to play occassionally, but it gets boring after about half an hour. The best thing to do in the Sims is to kill your people and to buy them useless things, but nothing they need (such as a toilet! Mwahaha!). i wouldn't even think about spending my hard earned ninety dollars (That's Ozzie currency peoples)on the Sims Unleashed, i would rather buy BloodRayne or Tomb Raider: Angel Of Darkness, both of which I hold high expectations for.

well some games have fans that complain if there are no sequals and some complain if there are, the bottom line is money and as long as people are willing to buy expansion packs and sequals then they will always remain. I think there needs to be more ideas in the gaming world than just shooting, jumping and more football games.
