What an overused term.

Seriously, I remember being a victim of it once when I was younger and use to own an N64.

"Can I buy this game Dad?"

"No, you've got enough already"

"But this is like the Best Game ever!"

I remember the Magazines would tell me this, probably because of the trash I was reading - Nintendo Offical Magazine. If there was a new Nintendo game coming out they would hype it up and praise it so much that the words 'The Best Game Ever' would just be implanted into your brain. Thankfully I don't buy magazines anymore and use a much mroe realible source called the Internet.

It was only two days ago my mate was sitting round here as we tested out the Dreamcast on my new TV.

"I'll put Crazy Taxi in quickly" I said. And so I did.

"Yeah, I remember first having that and thinking 'WOW! This is the best game ever!'"

And I can totally relate to that as I was the one slotting Pound coins constantly into the Crazy Taxi Arcade machine. I swear my Mum only bought me a Dreamcast to make me stop throwing away all that money.

The thing is, you think something is the best game ever until it's over or your just bored of it. Then you just hype up the next thing you think is going to take the crown.

Thankfully I have matured since then but being around here alot I do see people saying "BEST GAME EVER!" all the time. What I say to those people is get a grip as you'll be saying the same thing in a few months time about something else.

If I try and think back what I though was the best game ever I;d have a really hard time doing so. I wouldn't be able to do it.

In future, the phrase 'The best game ever' should be accepted as just 'a really good game'.

I'm tired.
