But what will happen next? The graphics will run smoother, the edges wont be as pointy and sharp, but will that really be enough to satisfy todays gamer? Thrre dimensional graphics is now an every day occurance- people just wake up in the morning, switch on their PS2, Gamecube etc., and just play without a thought going to what theyre actually witnessing. Even handhelds have almost reached a fully three dimensional level on the Game Boy Advance with the likes of Tony Hawk's. But how much further can computer companies take the graphics before they cant become any better, and everyone has spent all of their money? Will the companies just stop, throw in the towel, call it a day and quit?
I doubt it.
But what will they do to make today's gamer satisfied with what they have spent their £200 on? New games with fantastic graphics come out, such as Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Perfect Dark and so on will continue to be made, but will soon become old hat, and the public will once again become thirsty for more.
Companies will have to reach a new level...any ideas what those levels may be?
I dont think the companies have that many either. And I believe that soon, a new craze will come to town, our console will be put in a cupboard to wait for the craze-cycle to come back round whilst we once again play with yo-yos.
If you have any idea what could be done to revolutionise the face of gaming (tough challenge,no?) then post them up. Should be quite interesting to read. Thanks for listening to ... well...what i think.
