To date, Super Smash Bros Melee for the GAMECUBE has sold 798,910 copies in Japan, while Metal Gear Solid 2 for the PLAYSTATION 2 has sold 687,749 units.
For those of you not so hot with your big numbers (pretty much all of you then), Super Smash Bros Melee has sold more copies than the Playstation2's most eagerly-awaited game!
Just thought I'd raise your spirits a little!

SSBM did well as it's a good game. When the N64 one was released it sold well, this was a while into the N64's life aswell so there were a lot of games out then.

I as just wondering if weather Smash Bros did so well cos there's not many games released in Japan.

Sorry to put a downer on things, but i'm a fair guy!

I still think it did pretty well though. I thought MGS2 would have done really well thought, considering it's one of about 3 games worth getting for the PS2!
