"Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for your e-mail regarding Burnout.
We have referred this question to our head office who have replied as
follows:
The game does have Dolby Digital aspects in it, however you cannot use them
during the actual gameplay due to the limited processing power of the PS2.
Unfortunately, nothing can be done about this.
Thank you for contacting Acclaim Technical Support. Please be sure to

So SSX Tricky has a DTS soundtrack but Burnout, even though it has Dolby Digital plastered on the game and a HUGE logo on the website, doesn't.
Well, I'm not going to start throwing around the old 'false advertising' lark but is it just me that thinks this stinks?
MM
My only argument was that it's got Dolby Digital on the box and yet the actual game has no Dolby Digital elements.
SSX Tricky's DTS soundtrack doesn't appear to cause any problems so I honestly can't accept any argument in terms of processing power.
> i just dont like the game, some1 said in a mag that it leaves gt3 standing! ne 1
> agree with this?
they're different..
burnout is more an arcade blast type thing...
it's pretty wicked..
during the actual gameplay due to the limited processing power of the PS2"
so they wasted time putting in something that wouldnt work?
I mean, who the hell thought to include a Dolby Digital option that lets you play the in-game music?
I'd understand if it were a GT3 kind of soundtrack but it's all just complete pap that some poor sod had to make up!
I'm sure the creators would love to hear their music in glorious 5.1 surround but I would be a bit more impressed if the game featured the DD soundtrack rather than some stupid music player feature.
What's the world coming to....
during the actual gameplay due to the limited processing power of the PS2"
:D
What a load of crap.
