Just recieved my Action Replay through the post, and was wondering how to find out what version I've got. I tried looking in the corner of the screen or whatever it was you said to do b4, but I couldn't find it. Any one know? Cheers.

I don't intend to spoil my games by cheating at them, just that action replay was £1 more expensive than a freeloader so i thought I might as well get it.

If you hold the disc up to the light, you will see some writing which tells you what version the disc you have is.
For example, on my Action Replay disc it says something like "Action Replay V1.06"

Assuming you mean the GC Action Replay, best way to find out what version you have is to test it and see how crap it is. The crappier it is, the earlier the version.
