"Despite Nintendo's third place standing in console sales, the creator of Donkey Kong and Mario are by no means out of the fight. According to a 600 page report by DFC Intelligence, Nintendo's game revenue (i.e., profit) stands at US$4.6 billion, second only to Sony's $8.2 billion last year. Better still--or worse if you're MS or Sony--Nintendo is the most profitable of the three, with a line of record-breaking games and a kitty of $7 billion."
As you can see, even though Nintendo aren't too fussed about advertising their best games heavily, they're still gowing and making healthy profits. However:
"All is not rosy in the land of the big-headed games, though; the report points to Nintendo's persistent short-sightedness and lack of adult and online games as a potential issue. Add to that the company's over-reliance on portable gaming and you've got a potential problem. Overall, though, the report looks favorably on Nintendo, calling the company a "video game powerhouse." The true indicators of Nintendo's future will be the next 5 years, when the next generation of consoles come out and every company gets to reinvent itself in a sense."
So, a possible brain haemorrhage for Nintendo?
But it would be good if they also kicked Sony and MS off the market.
If only......
I just want the games
