I have pre-ordered a cube from Special Reserve. I have never pre-ordered a console from them before but can anyone tell me what happens.

I have paid the £20 deposit, do I have to ring up nearer the date and pay the final price when it's confirmed?

Has anyone pre-ordered a console here before?

what happened then, did u get a bill through the post?

Cheers for your help

Microsoft and Nintendo should have more units to sell than the PS2 did. I have pre-ordered my X-Box, I ordered it on 2nd Decemeber. I'll have to wait a little closer to the time to see if I get a launch machine.

With my PS2 I pre-ordered it the 2nd day SR where doing the PS2 pre-order.

My advice is to pre-order now and get in the queue. If for some reason SR cant provide you with a launch machine due to them not having enough stock, you will be refunded you £20 and then you can try else where. With SR you should get a launch machine if you pre-oder pretty early.

Just a thought...

Of course, if Nintendo/MS decide to introduce a pre-order scheme similar to Sony's then you may have a problem with your pre-order.
Many people pre-ordered PS2s VERY early with SR, but found that they wouldn't get a launch machine because SR had taken more pre-orders than the scheme had allocated them machines.
They did offer a full refund, and allowed customers to pre-order again with high street shops which had units remaining.

A lot of people are going to pre-order with SR, I hope they don't get too many to honour! If every store gets 100 units, then you'd probably be best going to a high street shop on the day of launch, rather than being the 101th person to pre-order and having to wait till the next batch.

Well the deposit means that you have secured a console. So with the PS2 it was wise to pre-order very eary. Then SR send you a list of games and other things for the console prior to the launch date. You then need to arrange final payments by ringing them up, you can then order your games e.t.c then. Dont worry SR will send you more information a month or two before the launch.
