Well, reading through my brothers copy of Kerrang magazine today, and they have the 100 reasons why 2002 will rock.

And numbers 60-69 were all video games. here is the list:

60) Mario Sunshine
61) Final Fantasy XI
62) Rogue Leader
63) Halo
64) Mario Advance 2
65) Pikmin
66) Star Fox Adventures
67) Dead or Alive 3
68) Metal Gear Solid 2
69) Resident Evil

Now notice something. 6 of these are only going to be out on Nintendo consoles. 5 for the Gamecube, and one for the GBA. And two each for the PS2 and Xbox. Now I know Kerrang cover music (and not too well either) and are by no means a decent video game publication (the fact that they showed a pic of Super Mario Advance where they were describing Super Mario Advance 2 proves this!) but this is definitely an indication of Nintendo getting more exposure than they usually get credit for. Usually people will say that casual gamers don't even know the name of Nintendos new console, but in Kerrang magazine it had more games featured than either Xbox or PS2, the supposed trendy consoles. Now I know it is only one magazine, but if it is a sign of things to come then Nintendo are going to get just as much exposure as the other two contendors, maybe even more simply due to the GBA.

Even better all five of the featured GameCube games are exclusives. No other system will get them. Halo, the Xbox killer app, is said to be heading to the PC anyway, and no doubt the Final Fantasy sequel and Metal Gear Solid 2 will also (eventually) make their way to the PC as their predecessors have. So it shows the GameCube in a very positive light, even if three of the five GamCube titles are 'cute' looking, and will therefore probably not appeal to readers of Kerrang as much as the 'realistic' looking titles. Still, if it is a sign of things t come, then maybe GameCube won't be as lacking in exposure as most people think.
