One major problem today is the lack of 3rd party Exclusive games. Naturally Capcom's support is second to none but other developers like BiTs (Die hard) are making their "Exclusive" Gamecube games multi-format.

The latest promising game is The Hobbit... so much for an exclusive middle earth pulling title.

At a guess, not enough hardware sales = not enough money to be made.

Is this "The Hobbit" as in the book? If so, a license probably cost them a small fortune, and it could only appeal to a limited audience. Thus, with GC sales 'struggling', it wouldn't be finacially viable to release just on the one machine - a small percentage of a small percentage is a very small percentage.

But as I say, it's just a guess.
