Well as Miyamoto said it is a follow up to Mario Sunshine but far more revolutionary and easier I presume it's a platformer... or at least an adventure game of sorts.
I agree with CuBeMaD , It would be very cool if it was like EW Cossacks. You could organize an army of Marios to fight against an army of Koopas... In full 3-D !!!!
