The future is with Shenmue according to Sega.
I emailed them about their woeful advertising campaign and they emailed me back. Unfortunately I emailed them via my DC so I have had to copy everything down on to paper and now type it up. This is what they say:
''We have always believed that the Dreamcast is capable of selling itself: it is after all, the first games console to be able to access the internet and it has even won awards for its innovative design. This does not mean that we do not support it with advertising and the ChuChu Rocket advertising that you refer to was actually very successful and gave a massive boost to the number of registered Dreamarena users. This is very important to the success of the Dreamcast, as we try to expand the services currently online, which in turn allows us to communicate with our customers. Rest assured that there will be more advertising, particularly as we approach ley times such as Christmas. I'm quite certain we can carry our success into 2001'

'In regards to the Playstation2, Sony have informed us that they will not be concentrating on European markets, as their main ambition is to sell their machine to home and US markets, therefore we can guarantee that the Dreamcast will have the largest userbase untill the Nintendo Game Cube'

I disagree. Sony have given me top quals**ty games and I'm not complaining, and of course they're in s**t for the money, otherwise what would be the point of selling s**t. And as well as being i s**t for the money, they want to give us top quals**ty games and consoles. Which they provided ws**th the PSX. The PS2 may seem poor at the moment, but I'm sure s**t will get better, like the PSX did, and s**t's gonna be £100 AFTER 1 YEAR, WHICH IS WHEN I'M GETTING IT!!! Here's my unbiased reviews of what I've seen and heard on some of the PS2 games so far:
1. Ridge Racer 5: Always have been s*s**t games, and from what I've seen of this, this game is no exception. I will not be getting this game.
2. Gran Turismo 2000: Excellent game ws**th gorgeous graphics and great gameplay just like s**t's predeccesors is what I've heard of this one, BUT, I believe these GT games are getting repets**tive. I might get this game.
3. Tekken Tag Tournament: I've seen good and bad reviews of this, and the graphics look great, but I'm not sure about gameplay. I'll probably get this game, as I loved the previous 3.
4. Metal Gear Solid 2:Sons Of Liberty: I can't was**t for this game, s**t's gonna be one of the best ever!!! The graphics look stunning, and from what I've heard and seen everybody loves s**t!!!! If s**t's got just as good or even better gameplay that MGS, and, if s**t's longer than MGS was, then this game should be given 10 out of 10. I will certainly be getting this game.
5. Star Wars Episode 1: Starfighter: Looks great and is a game that is being greatly anticipated by all Star Wars fans (like me)!!! I'll be getting this game.

All very good points but I think that after 1 year it will still be £300 as a lot of pre-ordering places are saying that you will recieve your PS2 in May 2000. So that is the earliest time it is going to be able to be bought off the shelves so if you owned Sony would you really cut profits of each unit by £200 within 7 months of it being sold properly commercially. By the way I have a Japanese import that my Brother brought back for me. And although I have only got Tekken Tag Tournament and the instructions are in Japanese so I can't read them, it is still going to be worth £300 when it comes out. Also TTT plays very similar to the previous 3 if anything it is an upgrade from Tekken 3 with more characters, so it is worth getting.
