Hi,

there is an "ultimate rgb" scart advertised for ps2 on special reserve. Does anyone know if it need a CD to be entered before each DVD for RGB DVD playback without a green screen and if it works well /. at all.

thanks a lot

I have the Blaze ultimate cable. The RGB play mode for games is great. Very clear images that make the games look great. Then you have the switch to turn it to DVD playback which is just plain old composite linking. This is slightly less good quality, but with DVDs, its not noticeable if you haven`t seen it running in RGB anyway.

Another option is the Region X that allows you to use RGB with DVDs also, but this requires saves on memory card and also the use of a disc each time. Not a bad solution though.

If it's the one I'm thinking of (Blaze) then it doesn't actually eliminate green screen.

It has a switch which lets you cross over from fully wired RGB scart to the 'avoid Sony's dumb copy protection lark' mode.

So you can play games in full RGB but you can't watch DVD's in full RGB unless you use Region X as well.

Hope this clears it up - good cable either way (I have it).
