A new year has started and a new currency has began to take effect in many of the European countries. In fact ALL of the EU countries except ones in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales...). This new currency replaces all the others (lira, francs, etc..) and is the same for all other EU countries that have agreed to enrol in this change. This new system has been put into use to help the European countries work better together, providing an easier and simpler way of using money abroad. The only problem is that it's all still different to the UK's. But there are plans to get us on it over the next few years.

So Europe is having it's currencys simplified so we can all seem more like one big, happy continent. But is just changing the currencys really enough?? Will the EU takle actions further in the near future?? After all, it's not neccesarily guaranteed that this will work. They may even think about adapting us to one single language! The most obvious choice would be English, possibly the most commonly used language in the world. But what if we all had to learn French, German or Spanish, would you feel happy with it? Many people hate learning the basics of these languages in school already, so how would they react if they were forced to speak it for the rest of their lives!!

A problem like this could put the whole of Europe into serious problems. Certain countires could turn against each other and possibly start a war! And other countires may be losing their population, as large numbers of famillies and people are flying to America, Africa or Asia, where they can speak a variety of languages. Just imagine how many different English accents there would be. When you travelled to the deeper areas of Europe, near Asia, you'd be laughing your head off at the how people sound compared to what you're used to! This would then upset countires casuing problems with other rivals.

Ok, so changes have happened, and could be happening, in Europe. But what about the rest of the world?? Other continents aren't all the same, and they may think that this currency idea is a good one. There are a lot of different countries in Africa, all on different currencys. It would surely be much easier for them to have just one currency, used by all of Africa's countries. It would make the trades of salves and food a lot easier, as they wouldn't have to waste time converting and trying to see if they've done a good deal. People can also be 'ripped off' by the sellers. As they can lie about the conversions between African money, earning a little bit more than they should!

The same could also be said for other continents. The South American countries are quite similar, and their trades and business could be made to work a lot similar and quicker with one currency. Japan and the rest of Asia could also use it. They probably don't need to make any more money but one currency could help an outsider decide wether to import from China or Japan. Converting Yen to Pounds can be very difficult, especially when you hear Yen talked about in thousands! It can be very intimidating for Europeans!

But what would these new currencys be called?? Asia's? Yankee's?? Afro's??? The name's could also be quite amusing for someoene not used to each continent works. Will there ever be one currency for the whole world??? That could then be called a 'Worldo'! Anyway, the fact is that changes are happening and it effect people and countries in a bad way. Lets just hope that it all works out well, and also when/if England join the system. We wouldn't want another war on our hands would we! 2 is enough!!
