The following match is a Cage match, and it is for the WWF Forum Championship! Last week we saw Kane (Starlight) overcome the undefeated Chris Benoit (Grandprix) to become our new Forum Champion, but, Benoit is entitled to a rematch, and here it is. And also, it’s in a Raw-after-PPV style Cage match. No pin falls involved in this match, the only way to win is to climb the cage, and touch the floor with both feet below.
BOOM!! The crowd go wild as we get the first sight of our NEW WWF Forum Champion, Kane (Starlight)! He climbs inside the cage, his belt held high! However, he’ll have a tough challenge defending his title, especially inside the steel.
(Benoit’s music hits) A mixed reaction for the title-less Chris Benoit (Grandprix,) who is all business as he walks towards the man who beat him last week. Kane lets him into the ring, and the bell rings.
Benoit is straight on the offence with a hard clothesline and then another, followed up by a swinging neckbreaker. Kane sits up straight away, but is once again knocked down thanks to a sharp dropkick to the back of the head. Benoit is quick to take advantage, and he pulls Kane to the ropes and chokes him on them…thanks to the mask though it’s not having much effect, and Kane battles out of it with some elbows the face. He whips Benoit into the ropes, who slides between his legs, and takes the big man down with a Reverse DDT!
Benoit viciously stomps on Kane, before locking in a Chickenwing Crossface. Kane reverses with a Snapmare, and a few shots to the head. He picks Benoit up, slides him onto his shoulders, and nails an Oklahoma Slam! Benoit is struggling now, as Kane sets him up for an Overhead Suplex, but Benoit counters with a couple of punches to the ribs, and then bounces off the ropes and looks for a Sunset Flip-but there’s no pins, and Benoit rolls out of it and uses his speed to lock in an Armbar on Kane. Kane desperately tries to fight out of it but can’t, the damage is being done here! Benoit finally lets go, and begins to climb the cage!
Benoit is nearly halfway up when Kane is able to grab him by the waist…wait, Kane’s setting him up for something here…he’s got Benoit on his shoulders! Powerbomb!! What impact! Kane drags him to his feet and hits a massive uppercut. He aims for another one, but once again Benoit reverses, ducking underneath and bringing Kane down with a Legless Takedown! Benoit (Grandprix) whips Kane (Starlight) into the ropes, and then throws him head-first against the steel! Kane staggers back and is met by a kick to the abdomen, and a DDT!
Benoit begins to climb once again, and he’s standing on the 3rd rope when Kane manages to pull him back. Kane grabs Benoit by the throat while he’s still on the rope, surely he’s not gonna Chokeslam him from this height! Ohhhhh, a low blow from Benoit, and Kane falls to his knees in pain. Surely Benoit could win it from here, but where’s he going?? He’s standing on the top turnbuckle, and he…his arms are stretched out wide, DIVING HEADBUTT!! Benoit uses himself like a torpedo, and his chin smashes straight into the kidney of our WWF Forum Champion! Benoit staggers to his feet, and evil smile forming across his face. Slowly and calmly he picks Kane up, grabs him by the waist and scores with a German Suplex! Another one! Another!
Benoit lifts his arms in the air, like he’s already the winner! He’s once again climbing up the cage, surely he’s going to regain his title here. Kane is slowly getting to his feet, but Benoit is steadily climbing higher. Benoit turns to face Kane, smiling. Why isn’t he climbing, he could’ve won by now! Finally he turns back, and begins-but it’s too late! Kane is up, and he’s steam-rolled towards the side of the cage! He smashes into it and it shudders under his weight! Benoit loses grip and he’s hanging on by one hand! Kane climbs up to join him, and just as Benoit had found his balance, he’s got a massive gloved hand around his neck! My God!! CHOKESLAM!! WHAM!! Benoit could be out cold, but unfortunately for Kane he went down with him, and landed awkwardly on his right leg! Kane is clutching his knee, and can’t take advantage of the fallen Benoit, what’s going to happen next?!
I can’t really believe this, but amazingly it’s Chris Benoit (Grandprix) who’s up first! Every time Kane (Starlight) tries to stand, his knee buckles underneath him! Benoit has no intention of wearing out Kane even more, and he heads for the top of the cage straight away. However, it’s slow work, very slow. That chokeslam has done much damage, and now finally Kane is on his feet, limping to the side of the cage. Benoit is only onto the 3rd rope, and somehow Kane is catching him! Both men are almost side-by-side now.
This is unbelievable, both men are sitting on top of the cage! Benoit throws some right-hands, but none of are having much effect. Just one single move could decide who will be the WWF Forum Champion at the end of this match. Kane nails a massive uppercut and-I don’t believe it! How could this have happened!? Kane’s uppercut has just knocked Benoit off the cage, and to the floor below! Both feet have touched the ground, does this mean Benoit has won!?

Amazing! Benoit’s music is playing, he’s won the match! Kane has knocked Benoit off the cage with a huge uppercut, which was so powerful that it knocked Benoit sideways, and all the way to the floor below! And because his feet touched the floor, it means he is the winner! Kane is holding his head on top of the cage, he can’t believe what has just happened! Chris Benoit (Grandprix) has beaten Kane (Starlight), and regained the WWF Forum Championship!

I think maybe the person who chose to write the match didn't like Kane being a champ or something. :D I wanted Benoit but Kane should have had a longer run.
I'm very happy with you (Benoit) being champ. One of my favouroite wrestlers and a very deserving champ. Just feel Kane should have had a bit of a run before the title changed hands again.

i wonder if this is what happens in the WWF...when a memebr of the creative team doesn't like someone else's decision on who wins the championship? Anyway...at least the record books will show Kane held the title...

Suprising! The Big Red Machine can't keep his title. Great match Ant and nice ending to it, Kane using his big hands to get him into trouble again.

Great match Ant. Me is thinking you didn't like the decision of Kane becoming the WWF Champion in the first place. :D Anyway well done to Chris Benoit as GP and bad luck Kane as Andy.
