Now many games, whether on PC, ps2, ps1, Xbox and Gamecube are just not long enough!
I think this is a real problem for the 'true' gamer.
Some people spend anything upto £40 and in return what do they get?
A game thats been completed within a week and is left to collect dust on the shelf!
This is a conn, and should not be.
By companies deploying shorter games make more money, less time in making, expensive and once youve completed that game you go and buy another.
But I can assure you the games will get longer, but they could become more expensive.
My favourite gameplayer has got to be the pc, im always on it! whether its talking to you or playing enless games of Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza and Star Trek Starfleet Command 3. (brilliant games these are)
I think That Die Hard has got to be one of the best games, because of its length and its graphics and simply its gameplay.
More and more people are forced to buy bigger hard drives and higher processors and better graphics to compensate for the amount of games youve got.
Well ive got a 80gb hard drive, and over 25 games, my hard drive 1 is nearly full!
Because of the games that they bring out now are simply to big a memory.
These game now need atleast a 32mb graphics card (minimum 16mb for some games)
They also demand alot of space (as stated above), especially simulators.
When i first bought train simulator I was so amazed by the amount of memory it took up! Something like 1GB.
I bought Project Earth a few weeks ago, and it cost me £25 and it doesnt work!!!, most annoying.
Simply because I didnt have a 32MB Graphics card and OpenGL!
Now that game is just gathering dust on my shelf.
So thats why many computer companies are so demanding for graphics. The only way to make money is to boost the memory up on games, to make people buy more hard drives eventually, and graphics. The ideal graphics is 64MB,
now in the future not long away most games will need atleast 128MB Graphics. But the 128MB is not cheap, atleast £150-350 for a descent one!
Well heres the good news:
*PS-3-* will be released in 2004-05, and GTA-San Andreas will be released on PS2 in 2004.
But will this be a repeat of its predecessor? Who knows, will it be longer?
Possibly, as the gaming industry is improving.
Now the problem the new game console are going to be expensive! so dont expect the £150 job!
I predict there will be another Gamecube or something similar.
The new game consoles will have 256mb graphics! Wow what a performance.
But what maybe a possibilty is that Xbox 2 could be released.
That should be pretty impressive!.
Well I truly hope that what I have said will happen in the mere future an that the games that will be made in the future will carry on to be as amazing as the games available to buy now!
Thank you for reading my opinion of games now and in the future.
Long live CONSOLES!

But the game speed would be 10-15times faster than real-life. When you die you immediately come out the game and go back to normal life.
But you can exit and other stuff whilst playing. (so you dont have to go through your whole life before you can exit)
nice thought though.
Erm I would personly choose something like sims, star trek bridge commander, die hard, or industry giant or any of them types of games.
*hoping and praying in great despair*
Not much of an ending, but twould be good in a way. Possibly.
The ending sequel is one of the best movie parts of the game, and shows you how the people survived of what happened after this and that etc.
Yep best part, apart from the game itself!
Like that, 'twould be perfect.
And there's all this stuff about 'never ending games' which I'm not to sure about.
One of the best thiongs abot games is seeing the ending, surely, after you've done all that hard work? But a neverending game would take that away and you'd have nothing to work towards.
Maybe in 50 years or so we could be playing "Inside" games, where we get sucked into the screen and enter the game its self!
cool huh
anyways i dont get much responses to any of my posts so i thought i would give it a catching title...
Besides, amount of memory isn't really that important, as it is only used as a frame buffer for storing textures etc.
Its the speed and bandwidth that really matter, its why the 64mb Ti4200 is faster than the 128mb in most cases, because the memory is faster.
*realises this is FOG, stops*
I thought it was going to be something about the song, you know the one.
"War, HUH!! What is it good for?? Absolutely nothin'"
That one.
Anyways........
*sobs*
