I'm alone here, at around 20 past 4 in the morning (yes, I've just been weightlifting), and I'm watching BBC News 24.

Every News Story is depressing - Israeli's attacking Palistinians, India in tension with Pakistan, the ongoing slaughter on Afghanistan and the trouble in Argentina. No good news, nothing.

Anyway, it's nearly the New Year. Instead of hoping it's going to be a better year than last, let's actually make sure it happens by playing a part in doing so.

You can make your usual resolutions 'giving up chocolate' for the year, or maybe going on a diet for a weekend - whatever you do, it's a good idea to have them. To have positive aims and targets - aims and targets, words that can have such different meanings at times.

Show more respect this new year, be as good as you can be in every respect. Don't let people get to you, and don't put up with any crap, be yourself, live in peace, repsect yourself, respect other people.

Raise a smile when you're feeling down, be appreciative of what you have, and strive to accomplish what you want. Never give up on yourself, or others and believe that you will achieve the near impossible, as you will, if you want it enough.

For me, the past day has been one of the most confusing of my life - my mind, something I am usually in control of - I just couldn't find it. Something personal had happened, and it's kind of hit me bad, but I'll get through it.

Don't Drink and Drive! Be Safe at any New Year's Eve Parties you may or may not be going to, be sensible, have a great time, and I look forward to another year of discussing games, life, sport, movies, music and whatever's going on in the world.

I believe that everything that does happens you cannot change, therefore it's happened for a reason, it's up to you to make the right decisions in your life in the present, look forward to the future, learn from the past, and live life, because it's something we've all got in common, and something, one day, we will all lose.

Is your post supposed to be ironic? Because I'm shocked that you think I've copied some, you're calling it drivel, but who cares, if you don't want to see any sincerity in it, that's your decision.

Man, you're 16 and you're staying up to the early hours of the morning weight-lifting!? Dude - get some sleep, you can weight-lift this morning! Nowadays, a disaster in the news = money, fame and riches for the news reporters, newspapers and TV stations. It's sad that they can cash in on an attrocity. There's not much WE as a person can do, but as a community we can work together to make this world a better place.

I don't do NY Resolutions - I don't believe in them.

Good post Dan and it made me smile! If this won GAD, I'd be happy...but I'd like my topic to win too! :D
